The Challenge

Following Group Chief Executive, Justin King's 'Making Sainsbury's Great Again' sales-led recovery in 2004, the Board and HR Team recognised that the engagement, buy-in and involvement of all Sainsbury's employees was vital to sustained business performance.

Lane4 Approach

In partnership with Lane4, Sainsbury's introduced the 'Tough Love' Programme to develop a coaching-based approach to leadership. As part of the intervention, a group of participants from across the business also went on to become 'Master Coaches'.
