Lane4 in the News: How Leadership Development Can Help Improve Patient Services

"With the demand for improved patient services in a changing Primary Care environment, the need for effective leadership in general practice is particularly acute."

Writing for Management in Practice, Lane4 Associate Consultant Neil Offley puts forward his view that good leadership is about managing change, and argues that practice managers can benefit from developing their leadership skills to maximise their potential.

Neil uses the example of Lane4's 'Transforming St. Mary's' programme which aimed to equip Senior Clinical Leaders (many of whom were Consultants) to lead and inspire change through others.

The programme consisted of workshops, action learning sets and one-to-one coaching, developed and delivered over an eight month period.
