Background
Mike has 21 years of retail experience. From an early age, whilst working at his grandfathers antique business, he knew he had a natural gift for selling. In 1985 he embarked on a sales career working as a Sales Assistant for Dixons Group, where his potential was soon recognised and he was promoted into management.
In 1989, Mike was Store Manager for three different stores transforming their business and turning store profits. In 1993, as an Area Manager, he won several awards recognising top performance for his region.
Using his experience of developing people through coaching to achieve high performance, Mike decided to move into learning and development. His role consisted of designing and delivering workshops to all four units of Dixons Store Group International. He was soon appointed Head of Organisational Development for Currys.
Outside of work, one of Mike's biggest achievements was running a campaign, for 3 and a half years to release his best friend who was wrongly imprisoned in Japan. Mike lives in Milton Keynes and has three children; Niall, Georgia and Rhys.
