What makes a great Middle Manager? Snapshot survey results
The results are in from our Middle Manager snapshot survey from September 2011.
Middle managers often get bad press yet research shows that they are integral to organisational success. They are the people who turn strategy into reality and play an essential role in interpreting and embedding change.
These 'high effort-low reward' conditions have left middle managers dissatisfied. A recent HR Magazine research study reported that 64% of middle managers report that they are not likely to be with their company in two years from now and only 11% feel prepared to tackle the challenges they face.
With this context in mind, we wanted to take an appreciative perspective to understanding what success looks like in this role.
