Hard to reach employees make up a sizeable, growing portion of the UK workforce. Consistently reported as the least engaged group of employees, organisations must address the issue of how to communicate effectively with them if they are to get the best out of their performance.

This research was inspired by three questions:
• Why are hard to reach employees not being reached, and what effect is this having?
• What if they were reached effectively - what would the benefit be?
• How might organisations communicate with this population effectively?
