Our modern and stylish office is based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Maidenhead train station is a 15 minute walk away and has links to Reading and London Paddington. We have an on-site car park with 55 spaces, including disabled spaces and electric charging points.
Our highly collaborative workspace includes:
• A large informal space called the Atrium where people can make refreshments, eat food, take a break, or work in a more informal and relaxed work setting. The Atrium is also used for monthly ‘all employee’ events and presentations.
• Collaborative meeting spaces or ‘Booths’ for impromptu and informal collaboration, 1:1s, small meetings and more relaxed settings.
• A number of bookable meeting rooms, each named after an Olympic city with its skyline featured on the glass. •Open plan hot desks for all employees (including our Directors) to promote collaborative working.
• A library and study booths for quiet, studious working.
• An onsite shop in the main foyer which sells hot and cold drinks as well as various snacks and hot food.
• Communal showers, changing rooms and lockers onsite for anyone who is partial to lunchtime exercise. (We are also based next door to the Magnet Leisure Centre and a canal.)
Maidenhead itself has a number of amenities, all within walking distance of the office. These include the Nicholson Shopping Centre, Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and various banks.
At Lane4 we believe that any truly high performing environment is built on an inclusive and diverse culture. We are extremely proud of our unique environment and strive to make everyone feel like they belong and able to give the best of themselves.
Our people enjoy spending time together and we have a number of employee-led activities including a HIIT club, Badminton, Netball, Football Team, weekly Yoga, fantasy football league and nature walks.
We also have a more formal calendar of employee events where we catch up, refresh and learn from each other.
• Company Day is a twice yearly company off-site where we focus on company performance, reviewing quarterly goals and other shared learning activities.
• Magic Mondays are scheduled monthly and include an update on company performance, a product learning session and shared lunch.
• Fab Fridays are monthly development days led by our Consulting Team. The day is focused on supervision and sharing best practice.
We have a monthly WOW award where teams nominate individuals who have demonstrated our company values in the way they have supported or collaborated with colleagues and/or clients. Our Managing Director, Adrian, reveals the winners every month, telling stories about what they've done and celebrating their success.
Every year we run our own 'High Performance Environment’ (HPE) scan, an engagement survey where employees have a chance to feed back anonymously. Year on year, we are benchmarked as the best example of an high performance environment against the many client companies we have surveyed.
We give our people autonomy and flexibility to deliver their best performance. We have an entrepreneurial sprit and ambitious growth plans which will create more and more opportunities for our people in the future.
Every employee is offered 10 development days per annum, plus numerous opportunities throughout the year to learn and develop.
We also have monthly consultant development days, called Fab Fridays, as well as bi-annual product conferences led by our Research & Product team. These events make sure both our delivery teams and our products remain at the cutting edge.

We take our wider responsibilities very seriously and have a dedicated Environmental Care Group who drive our sustainability agenda.
Highly conscious of our responsibility to protect our environment, we employ a policy of energy efficiency, recycling and environmental awareness.
We ask all employees to be thoughtful about resources, to turn off lights when not in use and to use our paper recycling trays and recycling bins. All our computers are configured to a print menu of double-sided and non-premium quality output, and we ask employees to work towards a paperless office. Once documents are sent to print, a code must be entered at the machine before they will emerge. This little extra step results in considerably less print waste.
Our car park has electric charging points and priority parking spaces are given to employees who drive electric cars. We also encourage and incentivise car sharing. ‘Keep cups’ are available for visiting coffee shops on town.
We believe that pressure can stimulate and drive performance. It's when we are unable to cope with excessive pressure that it becomes stress and has a negative impact on our performance, our relationships and, in the long term, our health.
We apply insights from performance psychology to help business leaders achieve this, and we also apply it to ourselves. We create a culture and working environment where Lane4 colleagues are encouraged to thrive on pressure (and reduce workplace stress) by:
In 2019 our Mind4 (mental health) group celebrated World Mental Health day (and raised money for MIND) through the following activities:
Our Mind4 group has also run 'Curiosity Hubs' on mental health where a panel have shared their own very personal stories and taken anonymous questions from colleagues.
On a more regular basis, we have weekly employee-led lunch-time HIIT classes, yoga classes, fantasy football league, badminton games in the adjacent leisure centre and more.
We are proud to offer some fantastic benefits to our employees, including:
All our salaries are externally benchmarked.
Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda is closely linked to our purpose of ‘making a difference to organisational performance and people’s working lives’. Our goal is to transform the lives of others and unlock potential.
It’s not about sporadic charitable initiatives (although many of our people do support charities outside of work, or undertake fundraising activities which we support), nor is it a ‘tick box’ exercise. We aim to create environments of sustainability, both outside and inside our organisation. At the heart is people giving their time to work with others, whether that’s 1:1 or in larger group environments.
In 2019 we supported the following charities and initiatives:
Athlete Transition Programme: Transition into the world outside of sport is a significant challenge for athletes at the end of their career. In 2017 Lane4 launched an athlete support programme aimed at helping retired athletes to find success and fulfilment beyond their sporting careers. The programme has had a hugely supportive response from athletes, the English Institute of Sport and the British Olympic Association. Drawing on Lane4’s unique insight into high performance sport and sport psychology, athletes are experiencing a quality development programme including face to face workshops, coaching and peer support. It is being delivered by both experienced and developing Lane4 facilitators and coaches.
Behind Every Kick: Since 2016, Lane4 has been supporting an initiative called ‘Behind Every Kick’, a sponsored life skills and mentoring programme to sports playing U16 year old boys and girls. The programme gives tools to sports coaches, sports clubs and volunteer mentors, empowering young people to unlock their potential in life and in sport. Lane4 has created and delivered content for many of the classroom sessions.
Child Bereavement UK: This year our Customer Services Team (the largest team within Lane4) has chosen to fundraise for Child Bereavement UK, a charity supporting families and educating professionals both when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, and when a child is facing bereavement. Fundraising activities included a sponsored dog show, quiz night and rounders match with pizza.
OSCAR Foundation: The Mumbai-based OSCAR Foundation provides educational support and encourages leadership and teamwork through football for young people from disadvantaged communities. Lane4’s OSCAR Fellowship gives one Lane4 employee the chance to travel to Mumbai for two weeks and undertake a project with the OSCAR team. Flights, accommodation and two weeks extra holiday are covered for this life changing experience.
PentUp Foundation: This charity uses the sport of Modern Pentathlon as a means of sports therapy to support the recovery of military veterans who have completed clinical treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Since 2017, many Lane4 employees have given up time to train in the five disciplines of Modern Pentathlon, and taken part in competitions to raise money for the charity
