Where has your passion for performance come from?
Being ‘just good enough’ is not good enough for me. I find mediocrity demotivating. It’s such a high to watch people when they know they’re nailing what they’re doing; that they’re doing it better than they ever thought they could, that they’re achieving a personal best.
What gives organisations the winning edge?
There’s something about an amazing organisational culture that is slightly edgy. They’re on the cusp of greatness, always creating, innovating and trying new ways of doing things. It’s an air of excitement at what the organisation is doing, with people throughout the company knowing they can make a difference – whether they’re at the top or the bottom.
