Where has your passion for performance come from?

As far back as I can remember, my Dad used to spend his weekend’s taking me to watch and play sport. My passion came from a number of role models in football, golf, cricket and hockey, which are all sports I still play. Being able to watch some fantastic sportsmen and apply what I was seeing into my own development, and seeing the results, is what got me hooked on high performance.

What gives organisations the winning edge?

Two stand out to me, collaboration and a learning mindset. I believe collaboration is key to gaining a winning edge; everyone is different, but channelling all the strengths each person offers into the same direction often breeds ‘winning’ results. A learning mindset allows you to learn from mistakes and successes, but also encouraging risk taking without fear of reprisal. This is how an organisation becomes innovative, and an innovative organisation will out-perform the competition.
